Wayne Jones was born on April 8, 1966, in Manchester, United Kingdom. After leaving school, he undertook a four-year Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship in the aviation industry, before moving into rotating equipment in 1985. He studied at Stockport College of Technology graduating in 1992 with an Honors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
After nine years working for Mather and Platt and the Weir Group, with overseas assignments in Norway and the Middle East, Wayne joined Sulzer Pumps as Project Manager in the Engineering Department. He progressed through the company in various roles before being appointed as Customer Support Services Director responsible for Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
In May 2005 he joined the MAN Group as Service Director at MAN Diesel UK (now MAN Diesel & Turbo UK Ltd) before being promoted to Managing Director some five months later. During this period he successfully restructured the company and lead the merger of Diesel and Turbo in this region. From January 2010 until December 2015, Wayne was Head of MAN PrimeServ Diesel responsible for all After Sales activities for the Diesel-related products in Marine and Power segments. On December 31, 2015, he was recognized for his services to the North West of England and supporting young people, in Her Majesty the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list and received his OBE (Order of the British Empire) on March 1, 2016.
Since January 2016, Wayne has been a Member of the Executive Board of MAN Diesel & Turbo SE (Chief Sales Officer, CSO), responsible for the global Sales and After-Sales activities.
Wayne Jones is married with two daughters.
